Three in one day!

Aren't you lucky??????? LOL

I just HAD to share the good news - I am featured on the Canadian Scrappers Blog Carnival website!! You gotta check it out, it is pretty cool! They travel across the country featuring bloggers from coast to coast!! Anyways, I am on there now!!! Maybe I'll start getting more hits on my blog!! They are taking submissions for the 5th edition so if you are Canadian and you have a blog, send them an email!!! Or, just go check out all the great blogs in Canada!!!

Had to add these too!

Here are two cards I made for my Mother in law. I actually haven't given her the top one yet, but I will soon! She got the bottom one last weekend for Mother's Day. I used Women of Life stamp set by Papertrey Ink - it is quickly becoming my fave! I also used Night of Navy ink and designer paper (creative memories - jewel tones) and Night of Navy ribbon. In the center of the big flower & the petals on the little flowers above are stickles. I also used PTI's spring moss cardstock and ink. For the bottom card, I didn't use any stickles, but I used a jumbo eyelet (SU) to thread the Night of Navy ribbon through.

Dance Recital

Last Sunday, my two niece's had their dance recital, so...being their FAVOURITE Aunty, I couldn't pass it up! I picked up my Mom on the way (hour and a half drive) - it was a nice way to spend Mother's Day! The recital was great, the girls looked soooo cute and they danced wonderfully! Hailey, in the front, was a Sheep from "Little Bo Peep" and Darby did a tap dance to "Stupid cupid". It was awesome!! They are too darn cute!!
This is the most recent card I received from my Secret Sister - I had to post it because the colours are so awesome! I love the pink and green together and of course that stamp set.....I will have to buy it one of these days but it is so expensive! My Mom used to always tell me I had champaigne taste on a beer wage!! Ain't that the truth eh?? LOL

Knight in Shining Armour!!

I made these cards with my new Fairy Tale set by Doodle Factory - there are about 20 stamps in the set and they are CUTE! There is a wizard, a princess, a horse, dragons, a cart, a castle, a turret, frog, etc. Check them out at Starving Artistamps

So, here are the DEETS!! I MADE MY OWN TECHNIQUE (well, at least I think I did!! I'm sure it's somewhere but I came up with it on my own!) I call it...Faux Armour!! LOL I have seen faux denim & faux wood, but I needed something shiny and silver to go with my little knight. So, I rubbed Going Grey ink on my cardstock, then sponged on silver metallic reinker all over to give it shimmer (boy did it stink though! UGH) Done!

The first card I paper pieced his suit with another piece of "faux armoured" cardstock, but the second card I coloured him using gamsol & prismas. I added Crystal Effects to the shield in the first card, and all over his armour and shield in the second one. The sentiment is from Father Figure (Verve Visual) I added some brads and some photo corners and mounted it all on black to make it pop!!! What do you think???? He's cute eh?? You REALLY gotta check out the whole set - so cute!!!

New Magnolia's

This is one of the new Magnolia stamps I just got from Phebe at The Town Scrapper in Petrolia, Ontario! She's sooo cute!! I stamped her on SU watercolour paper then coloured with gamsol (OMS) and prismas. The card base is a shimmery green I got at Michael's awhile ago, and the DP is from SU but I can't remember what collection it is from! The flowers are from Women of Life (PTI) and the sketch is an SCS sketch challenge - SC173. Same Tilda, same sketch - different paper. I also have her resting on a stool that is popped off the page along with Tilda. I used my Diamonds in the Rough Cuttlebug folder and the DP is from Creative Memories - jewel tones. The card base is brocade blue. I added a green prima, tag and dew drop to give it some more colour.

Phebe is donating these cards to the Cancer Society, so I made these 2 and 3 others but I forgot to take pictures of those...whoops!!! Thanks for looking!!

Congrats Diana!!! and a card

My SBS4 sister Diana is celebrating 250 posts & is giving away amazing blog candy!! Check out her blog for your chance to win!!! And check her blog out for all her awesome creations!!! Very talented lady!!!!

Here is another card I made, nothing special, just a baby card. The base is Night of Navy, even though it looks black. The stamp is a Magnolia stamp, BABY ALVIN. I coloured him with gamsol and prismas and perched him on the ribbon. I used my Cuttlebug baby words folder and navy ribbon with 2 bows attached. Very simple but I couldn't "flower" it up for a baby boy!!! LOL I'm sorry it looks yellowish, I took it in natural light but I guess it wasn't enough! I must stick to my lamps downstairs!!!
