CD envelope shaker cards

I found this tutorial on Maria's blog & just had to try it...it looked so cute!! I bought a box of 50 Memorex CD/DVD envelopes from Staples (dirt cheap!) - these are the ones with the clear plastic windows in the middle. Decorate the outside of the envelope but MAKE SURE the envelope is upside down....the opening is at the bottom!!! Cut a piece of white cardstock 4 7/8" square, and stamp your main image in the center. Colour it and add any other details to it (this one is pretty plain cuz it's the first one I did!) Add adhesive to the bottom of this piece and carefully insert it into the envelope (opening is down by her feet). Make sure the adhesive & your envelope don't meet YET!!! Add your "shakers" - punches, flowers, glitter, confetti, etc. so it shows through the window. Carefully seal the envelope to the cardstock, making it smooth. Seal the envelope, add ribbon or other embellies that you want, and then attach it to the card base, which is 5 1/2" square. This is Flower Power Tilda - I coloured her with my SU markers.

Here is the second one I made. I was a bit more adventurous with this one! LOL I used all High Hopes stamps - Jungle background, Camilla Gorilla, sentiment and bananas. I coloured all of this with Gamsol and prismas! The card base is Sahara Sand. AND, believe it or not, I cut out all the bananas for the shakers! Crazy! My hand was sooooo sore!!!! LOL

Awwww THANKS!!!!

First off, I would like to thank Kelly for this Blogger Award! You are awesome too Kel! Thanks for the shout out!!! I am to now pass this on to 3 of my Creative Blogger friends, so I will pass it on to Seleise, my SBS4 sister who always makes such FABULOUS things and leaves super comments, Donelda, a very good friend, fellow SBS4 sister and VERY talented and inspirational stamper, and Kim, a fellow Magnolia addict and inspiration to many of us; her talent oozes all over the blogger world.

Second, I want to thank everyone who leaves comments, you have NO idea how wonderful they make me feel (well, actually, you probably do...LOL) I appreciate every single comment and each one I read makes me smile or giggle. Please know that I return the thanks in my heart even if I can't get to your blog as often! Some of you are SO faithful!! I love it!!!

Third, thank you for the advice on the Farmer's Market table. I have stuffed MOST of the cards into cello envies, bought 3 really cute fabric lined wicker baskets and have ordered a card spinner rack. Not sure when that will be here but hopefully by next Thurs. night! I will let you know how tonight goes.....keep your fingers crossed for me!!!

I don't even have anything to share with you today - I've been so busy stuffing cards and getting cards ready for my Sunday workshop that I haven't had time to create anything!! Hopefully I will post the pics of the 3 cards we are making on Sunday by tomorrow night. In the meantime, enjoy my new PLAYLIST!!! FYI - the song "If I Ain't got you" by Alicia Keys was our wedding song!!! Have a great day everyone!!!

Mojo Monday Sketch #39

This card follows the Poetic Artistry Mojo Monday sketch #39 from last week (I'm a bit behind! What else is new??) The card base is Soft Sky, and the DP is from 3 bugs in a rug. The pink DPis the reverse side of the spotted circles. The ribbon is Spring Moss from Papertrey Ink and the flowers are Burlap Primas. I coloured Tilda using gamsol and prismas and added stickles to her wings of course. AND, check it out, I figured out how to do a watermark!! Wheeeee!!!
This card is the same sketch, same DP. The card base is Gable green and the ribbon is silky ribbon from Fabricland! The turtle is from Inky Antics and the sentiment is from my favourite SU sentiment set called Mini Mates. I coloured the turtle with my SU markers & added stickles on the flowers.
