Knock, Knock........

Ok, there is a story here.....ready?? My sister's cottage is under construction on the inside right now, so while I was there last week, there was only one bathroom and it didn't have a door. They had a sheet hanging for privacy (if you want to call it that! LOL) but when you wanted to go in, you had to just say "knock, knock" to see if anyone was in there. So of course, that led to knock, knock jokes....and to be honest with you, I am a terrible joke teller and story teller....so I had a couple reliable ones that I never forgot as a kid, and used those until they got sick of them. Well, my youngest niece Hailey, loved the jokes and wanted more. I kept retelling the same ones..... ugh!!! For the LIFE of me, I couldn't think of any others!! So....on our way home, I planned this book in my mind, to send to them, to hang in their bathroom, so they had a ready supply of Knock, Knock jokes! There were 20 pages, so they have 20 jokes. It was a LOT of work, but well worth it!!

The pages are coasters I "borrowed" from a restaurant (had to cover up the Coors Light logo though), covered them with DP, sanded down all the edges and corners then attached the jokes and stamps. I punched holes in all of them with my Crop-o-dile and used a binder ring to keep them all together. The DP is ALL from the Frutti Fusion pack from The Angel Company - I wanted it to coordinate, but didn't want it too girly or too boyish! I love the bright colours of this paper!
The first page used the Owl set from Simon Says Stamp (owl & sentiment). The owl is popped up and sitting on a piece of twine.
Here are a few pages to give you the "jist" of the inner pages. I just searched Knock Knock jokes on Google and got THOUSANDS! I used stamps, stickers, die cuts...whatever I could find that sort of corresponded with the joke!

I used my Marvy punches to punch the circles too.

The dragonfly is a punch! Sort of resembles a mosquito! LOl

Here's a few more!

I love this little old lady stamp (Gina K)

This is the last page of their book!

I made another smaller version for my Simon Says Design Team. This one uses just the owls from the Owl Knock Knock set. Same DP (TAC), same idea, fewer pages! These are very time consuming - and it destroyed more than HALF of my SU sanding block...LOL

Heidi, when you get this, and if you decide to photograph it for your gallery, I would like you to keep it for Jaxon ok?? :)

You Rock - Simon Says Stamp Design Team cards!

I decided to make some cards for Heidi at Simon Says Stamp, using the set "You Rock". This set is really great for all the music lovers in your life. It is a lot of fun to use and can be made feminine or masculine! For this first card, I used my Scor Pal to make the grid lines for the background and used Almost Amethyst paper and ink. The ribbon is from Michael's and is 2 different purples. It is a 4x4 card.

This card is 9 x 41/4. I used Garden Green and Very Vanilla. The music note border stamp comes with the set, it is so cool!! I really "blinged" up the card with rhinestones from Hero Arts (purchased from Simon Says Stamp), some silver cord, a silver star and some stickles!!
This card is a Z-fold card and I used More Mustard and Handsome Hunter (you can't tell, but that square under the guitar IS green!!) Inside the card (below), I used a sentiment & the oval stamp with stars from Starlight, Starbright from Verve Visual. I also blinged up the guitar with stickles!!
These cards are on their way to you Heidi!!! Hope you all like them!!!

Bee thanking you.....

I made this card for my sister Cindy and her family for having us out at their cottage last week. Her kitchen is going to be decorated with yellow/black/bumblebees so I thought this was appropriate for her! The base is yo-yo yellow and the stamp is from Stampendous. The flowers are from my "collection" of primas & the black brad is from the Dollar Store! I used Crystal stickles on the bee and the flowers and crystal effects on his wings. I scalloped the bottom of the card with my corner rounder. This card is
5 1/4" x 5 1/4"

Thanks for stopping by!!! :)

A couple High Hopes cards....

My jungle stamps from High Hopes were feeling a bit neglected so I thought I would sit and colour a whole bunch. I finally got to use them up. This first card is Stretch the giraffe. The card base is Really Rust and the other layer is More Mustard - sponged with Really Rust ink and run through the Cuttlebug with the Mesh folder. I used a jumbo eyelet with a Fire rhinestone brad inside (both from SU). Stretch is coloured with koh-i-nor pencils and gamsol. The sentiment is also from High Hopes and is inked with Really Rust.
This is Samson, also from High Hopes. He is coloured with koh-i-noor pencils and gamsol too. The card base is Garden Green and the DP is from Arctic Frog - Lilly Pad collection. The sentiment is also from High Hopes and was inked in Garden Green. I used a jumbo eyelet (SU) and some green thread I had in my scraps bin! This card is 5 1/4" x 5 1/4"

Retro Funky Tilda

This is a 6 x 6 card - thought I would try a different size card! The base is Taken with Teal (SU) and the DP is from TAC (Frutti Fusion). I also used Elegant Eggplant paper and Taken with Teal ribbon. The primas are from my HUGE collection! The rhinestone brads & others are from Michael's. I paper pieced her dress and coloured the rest of her with SU markers. The skin tone is a Tombow marker I just picked up on a recent "road trip" with my friend Lorinna (HI!!) After I took the picture, I realized she was "floating" so I added some grass under her feet.

A few pics from my trip!

Here are a few pics of my trip to BC. We were on Shuswap Lake. So much fun!! My sister and her husband have built a "cottage" out there, and spend most of their summer on the lake! Here is their cottage - not a bad little shack eh? They are so lucky!!!
This was our first "pit" stop in Golden, BC. This is me, my nephew, my sister Cary and their dog Sunny.
Here's me in the boat!
This is Margaret Falls, it was a little hike to it, but it was so gorgeous!!!
This is my sister Cindy and her son, trying to get to the cave in the middle of Margaret Falls....crazy! That was as far as they made it!! LOL This is my niece feeding a llama at a farm. They had little bags of feed for the animals.
Bear cub paw print on their garbage bin. We never saw a bear but apparently there were 2 Moms and they each had 3 cubs...glad we never ran into them!!!
This is me swimming from the boat to this really cool waterfall. We walked around it for a bit, exploring, but the water was COLD!!!! Brrrrrr Here is the waterfall we swam to. Neat eh? There were so many cool places to explore along the lakes - it was fun!!! We went to a Corn Maze in Salmon Arm, BC. It was incredible - 10 acres of corn, with a maze cut through it. It was pretty neat but the mosquitoes were terrible!!!

Hope you enjoyed the photos!!! :) Thanks for visiting!!!
