Tilda overload!

I can't help myself, they are allllll so dang cute!!! I promise I will move on to something else as soon as all these images are coloured!!! Here are 2 more I made yesterday! This one has a pink base and the pretty sparkly purple paper is from my DSS last round, Glenda (HI!!!) - she sent me a bunch of really cool papers already cut to layer on my cards!! I added 2 photo corners layered with a rhinestone brad in the corner, and some primas on the bottom. I coloured Tilda & the wall (called a MUIR) with my koh-i-noor pencils and gamsol. I added white laces with my white gel pen & glitter on the lilacs with my Sakura stardust gel pen. The tag is SU oval punch and the sentiment is from the Sock Monkey set (SU). A very summery feel to this card, makes me miss the summer!!
A more "autumn" feel to this card - cuz it has been COLD here!!! Brrrrr!!!! The base is More Mustard and the DP is from SU but it was in my scraps bin, so not sure what set it is from! The ribbon is from my scraps bin too (look at me go on my scraps eh??) The charm is from the Dollar Store. I watercoloured Tilda but coloured the flowers and grass with my koh-i-noor pencils. Why does the grass look blue?? It's really not blue!!!

Thanks for stopping by....have a great weekend!!!

Check out the sewing all the way around, the flowers and Tilda's toenails! Adorable! And the colours are great!!! WATCH next August for a DOUBLE BLOG BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION with Michelle and I. We are going to celebrate together!!! It will be FABULOUS!!! Michelle also sent me some Rain drop stickers and some stamped images! Thanks Michelle!!
This cute ladybug is from Heather.
This card is my first card from my new DSS (divine secret sister) - it is a criss cross card, very cute!!
I received this card as a pre-gift from my Christmas Secret Angel on a Magnolia yahoo group I'm on!! The glitter is done on the backside of the acetate - sooo cool...anyone know what technique that is called??

That's it for now, I'm running REALLY late for work - oops!!!! I have a couple more Tilda cards to post later, or I'll save them for tomorrow!!! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Photography woes.....

Ok, as some of you know, we just got a new camera and when I took pictures of my cards they were really yellow. This is what I do: I take the 12x12 white sheets that come with the SU designer paper, put one down and one propped up. I put the card in and turn on 2 lamps, one overhead and one closer, shining down (not OTT lights but I will get one soon!) I try to get as much daylight as possible through the window as well. I zoom in a bit cuz that's what I read on Stampin Kub's blog about taking photos. I think it has something to do with shutter speed and letting in more light ?!?!?! I did this with our last camera too. I also use Picture It (Microsoft) to adjust the balance and contrast, so that helps in most cases.

I am trying to figure out the best setting for taking pics of cards so I did a little test yesterday. THANKS to everyone for their advice and to Kelly for leading me to the right page in our manual!! Who woulda thunk it would be called "white balance"?? LOL Here are the photos & what setting I had them on when I took them: (these have not been edited at all)
This first picture is taken with the setting on Program, no flash, and the white balance set to Tungsten, which I'm assuming is regular light bulbs. This one is the best of the bunch, I can definately play with this.
This second one is taken with the setting on Program, no flash, and the white balance set to Flourescent. Not bad but kinda dark.

This third one is taken with the setting on Program, no flash and the white balance set to FlourescentH. Not sure what the H stands for but it sure is yellow...yuck!!!

This fourth one is taken with the setting on Program, no flash, and the white balance set to AWB (auto white balance). Yuck too!

This fifth one is taken in the EASY setting with no flash. Not bad but not great either!

This one is taken in the AUTO setting with no flash. Kinda dark eh? But wait, check out the next one WITH a flash.....dark too....go figure!!!! So, it looks like I've found my solution: PROGRAM setting, Tungsten white balance setting with no flash!!! Glad I took the time to figure that out - thanks again everyone for your tips. I would like to know more about the photo boxes & photo tents some of you mentioned.....hint hint!

About this card - it is for my niece who turns 4 in Oct. The paper is Regal Rose and Berry Bliss DP (both SU). I coloured her with my koh-i-noor pencils and gamsol. She is popped out on the swing (as I said before, it is WAY easier to cut her out than to mask her for the swing...I'm terrible at centering things, even with my Stampamajig!!! LOL) The primas are from my stash as are the dewdrops and rhinestone brads. The pearl is from my Pretties kit!

I didn't put my watermark on any of these - if someone REALLY wants to steal the nasty yellow photos...go right ahead!! LOL HAVE A GREAT WEEK EVERYONE!!!! I am meeting my new class for the first time today - teaching a Grade three/two combined class again, so it should be really fun!!! I'm SURE I will have funny stories for you over the course of the year...I always do!!! Kids crack me up!!!

And some Tildas to show you....

You will see more of this card in tomorrow's post...... I did an experiment today but will post it tomorrow!!! But, here she is all edited up! Still need to work on my shadows, but at least the pictures aren't yellow!!! This one is for my niece who turns 4 in October.
This one is a little yellow, I took it at night, before my experiment!!! This one is going to an SBS4 sister!!!
This is Cherry Tilda - isn't she cute? I used Real Red paper, Summer Picnic DP and some blue scraps. I popped her up on the bench and added some flowers from my SU flower punch!

I wish you could see the embossed FRIENDS at the bottom better...it is embossed in gold and looks really sharp. The paper is Old Olive and Honey Pie (Cosmo Cricket) and the ribbon is from Michael's. I thought this paper looked really cute with the stitched heart on their dresses.

Sorry this post is so short, Tim is beaking at me - says I have A.D.D - but I don't think so, I just get distracted easily!! LOL I was supposed to be doing laundry and having a shower but here I am!!! Ahhh well...laundry will be there tomorrow!!!! G'night everyone!!!

Some more Magnolia cards

I made this card just because! I stamped 4 pages of Magnolia images so I could just sit and colour them while watching TV with Tim. I coloured him with my koh-i-noor pencils and gamsol. The paper is Mellow Moss and Prestwick (DP). The little hello is from a TAC set (not sure which one!) and I used my oval punches and added a little blue button with linen thread through it. I popped Edwin out from the summer background (much easier than masking!!)

Another card just because. It is more simple but I wanted to have more "guy" cards around. I popped Edwin on the boat and popped out the bird. The little cloud is from Alota Rubberstamps - it works perfectly with Magnolias. The card base is Night of Navy. This is coloured with my koh-i-noor pencils and gamsol.

This is a birthday card for my nephew who is turning 10 in September. There are a few birthdays coming up in Sept. & Oct. so I thought I would get a head start on them. The base is Night of Navy and both of the DP is Prestwick (SU). Again, I used the clouds from Alota Rubberstamps & the sentiment is from a Gina K set. This is coloured with my koh-i-noor pencils and gamsol. I popped out Edwin from the boat, added a button and some linen thread and voila...done!!

This card is for one of my niece's whose birthday is in Sept. as well. I used really rust and brocade blue cardstock. The ribbon is from my stash and the rhinestone brad is from SU. I popped her out on the summer background. She is also coloured with my koh-i-noor pencils and gamsol.

These are all stamped on Watercolour paper - it works the best with koh-i-noor pencils and gamsol!!

This card is from my DSS (divine secret sister) Glenda, and I absolutely love the colours. It is so pretty! Glenda is so thoughtful! Thanks Big Sis!!!

This card is from my friend Donelda. This is such a pretty card and I know it took her a long time for all the stamping and cutting. She even decorated it inside. It is a beautiful card too!! Thanks friend!!!
