Magnetic bookmarks?!?!?!?

Ok, yeah, seriously...I thought that too when I saw them. I saw them in BC at this little artisan store, selling them for $2 each. All it was, was a small piece of paper, with a photo on one side and 2 little magnets inside to grasp to the page in your book. I thought....what the heck....I can make I bought one, to get the dimensions and to remind me to actually DO it, and I FINALLY did!!!! Here is a pic of the bunch that I made:
The dimensions are 3 1/2 x 2. But you could make them whatever size you want. Just add the magnets to the bottom!

A close up of the glittery butterfly. I believe this butterfly is from TAC. The glitter is Hero Arts Prisma glitter & the rhinestones are from Hero Arts as well (bought from Simon Says Stamp)!!!

Here is a pic of the inside...pretty simple eh? The hockey skate is from TAC too.

Another close up - I embossed these snowflakes with Winter Wonderland powder from Michael's. The snowflakes are from Seasonal Icons (SU).

And the last one, is a bird from Simon Says Stamp set - A little birdie told me - check out their store and blog link on the right! This one I added pink flock to the bird so it's fuzzy.

Inspired by the paper!

Both of these cards were inspired by the paper. They were in my scrap bin, and when I was digging through for pieces for Donelda & her SCRAP CRAP CHALLENGE, I found them! The card base is Real Red (4 1/4 " square) & the DP is unknown. I added some leaf eyelets to add some fun! Tilda is popped up on the DP & I coloured her with my SU markers.
This card is made with an image I received from a Secret Christmas Angel. It is a Hanglar & Stanglar image (stamps from Norway - very hard to get!!) I coloured her with my koh-i-noor pencils and gamsol. She is also popped out on the brown paper. The card base is Brilliant Blue and is 4 1/4" square. The DP is unknown! I added the button, linen thread and a seed packet charm. I wish you could see the charm better!!! I got them in a little pack from Michael's! And rather than HOARDING them, I decided I would open the pack and use them! They are so cute!!!

Less than 1000 visitors left to go!!!!

WOW, time flies!!!! I just checked my counter and we are just over 9000!!! WHEEEEEEEEEEHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! So, I've been adding more and more to the envelopes for the Blog Candy AND my Blogaversary prizes so they are WAY better than the photos in THIS post!!!! If you haven't already left a comment on THIS post, please do it quickly, because as soon as my counter hits 10,000 I will go to and find a winner!!!!

THEN, in 83 days from today, I will celebrate my FIRST BLOGAVERSARY!!! And again, I will go to to find a winner of the second envelope (from the blog candy post)!!! They are both getting FAT, so make sure you leave a comment at the post above!!! I will leave you with a few pics from out spur of the moment camping trip last weekend!! It was fun, but a little chilly at night!!!

This is our campsite from the hill that was behind it. It was perfect because we parked the trailer sideways, and we had the huge site, the hill and all the trees around us, so Brick could be off leash for most of the weekend. And, since we were in Site #1, there was no one on either side of us - #2 was WAY down the road!! LOVE THAT!!!

This is a view of the river when we went for a walk. We didn't let Brick swim this time, it was too cold!!! This area is in the foothills, in Kananaskis, just before you get into the Rocky Mountains! So beautiful out there!!!
Here's me and Tim - our typical "self-portrait" shot! The sun was REALLY bright, that is why I'm squinting! Check out my new specs...I love them!!!

And the usual shot of Brick relaxing in his own chair! He has somehow taken over MY lounger!! Hmphhh!!!

Donelda's crap...I mean SCRAP challenge!

Donelda challenged her blog readers to a "scrap exchange" type swap! I sent her 3 pieces of my crap...I mean scrap.....and she sent me 3 pieces of her "scrap"! I SHOULD have taken a photo of what she sent me, but I didn't....I will next time! I had this idea in my head and well, it didn't quite come out the way I wanted it to, but since I already cut the paper all up, I had no choice to work with it!!! This is what I came up with. She sent me a small piece of this funky black & white paper, a small piece of green with white dots and a piece of ribbon with green and red in it. I made it into a pinwheel card using the SU tag punch. I wanted to capture the colours in the ribbon which is why I chose a red base for the card. After I took this photo, I stamped "FRIEND" down the right side of the card with my karen foster snap stamps. I wanted to put it on the bottom but the ribbon would have covered it up. Anyways, this is the first card for her challenge & I can't wait to see what she makes with my crap!!! AND, I can't wait to see what she sends me next time...she said she went easy on me this time!! I totally went easy on her too, but next time....look out girl!!! Tee hee!!!!!
