It looks like it is becoming PASTEL season!!!!

I am entering this card into the Pike's Playground challenge which is PASTELS.  I think the pale blue and yellow qualify it for pastels (I hope!!!!)  I made this card for my brother in law who loves to fish! Didn't think pastels worked for guy cards but I think this one does!!! What do you think??

I am also entering this into 2 Sisters Challenge which is also Pastels this week. All Sorts challenge and One Stop Craft Challenge themes are Springtime, so I think this fits in there quite nicely too!!!
Wish me luck!

Chris

2 Cute Ink project with iFrogger image! FREEBIE alert!!!!

I made this gift bag using the FREEBIE iFrogger image from 2 Cute Ink.....isn't he adorable?!?!  I resized him and copied him several times so it looked like a pond scene!  The sentiment is computer generated.  I also added googly eyes to some of them and some plastic flies I had kicking around my craft room!  I stamped the bag with some bugs and added some cute green ribbon to the handles!  Cute, fast, easy gift bag!!!!  LOVE IT!!!

What you need to do to get your FREEBIE iFrogger image, is go to the 2 Cute Ink Facebook page & follow the instructions (its quick & painless, I promise!!!!) AND well worth it for this ADORABLE famous frog!!!!!

Then if you have an iPod, iPad, or iPhone, head to iTunes and get the cool game that he was made for:  iFrogger!!! Looks fun, but unfortunately I don't have an iPhone...so get it & let me know how it is!!!! I LOVE fun games!!!!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND everyone!

Chris

Feathers......take em or leave em??

I am unsure about feathers.... I have seen tons of cards that use feathers and they turn out SO beautifully......I don't really think it is my "style" to add feathers....they just seem to "be there" - not really adding anything or giving them a WOW factor.  What do you all think?  Do you use feathers? How do you use them on your cards??

I made this card using a Saturated Canary image - I think it is called Tourist, but I can't find her in the shop anymore.  I made this for my best friend who is a photographer.  Back in the day of parties and drinking, we always referred to ourselves as "Tequila Cats" - we both love tequila & we both had cats....somehow along the road, it turned into Good Cat, Bad Cat... I of course ended up being the Bad Cat (NOT sure why!!! LOL) - which makes this card fitting for the Good vs. Evil challenge at Saturated Canary challenge blog.

And the side view:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Creative Moments - add a sentiment
Divas by Design - buttons & bows

Thanks for stopping by! Wish me luck!

ABC Christmas Challenge - E for Eyes Down.....

This week at  ABC Christmas Challenge  our letter is E........for EYES DOWN at the Bingo Board!!!  Choose 3 items in a row, either across, down or diagonal

I used Patches Christmas-2,  #5 from The Stamp Fairy and fussy cut him out after I coloured him.  The tree die cut is from my stash - I think I bought these from Etsy a couple years ago!  The sentiment is also from The Stamp Fairy. I just added some stickles to the tree for ornaments.
I used the bottom row:  Ribbon, Animal, Die cuts (the tree) for my card.

AND I made a poinsettia tree ornament using our 2nd sponsor:  Shape EZ -  Poinsettia template
For this one I used the top row:  Not a square, flower, and glitter

I printed out the template, sponged it with red ink, sponged the edges with brown, then put it together.  The center of the poinsettia is yellow stickle dots, and then I added crystal stickles around each petal. I think next time I will make this with little yellow pearls in the center - its hard to see the stickles against the red!

Thanks so much for popping by!!! Remember with this challenge, you have TWO WEEKS to enter! So why not get a head start on your Christmas cards for next year???  I'm excited to have a good stash of them done for next year.....less stress!!!! Wheeeeeeeeee!!!!
Have a great day!

Chris

2 Cute Ink TUESDAY TUTORIAL! My turn to share!!!!

Homemade Dog Biscuit treat bags
Using 2Cute Ink

 Materials:
- Dog biscuits (homemade or store bought)
- Small plastic bags
- Cardstock
- Milk and Cookies Dog digital image from 2Cute Ink  (which is a FREEBIE now!!!!)
- Colouring medium
- ink
- White 3D puffy paint
- Adhesive
- stapler

1. Make dog biscuits ahead of time (I used a recipe I found at AllRecipes.com) – any shape & size. You could use store bought ones too!

 Here’s the recipe I used:
5 cups whole wheat flour
1.5 cups nonfat dry milk powder
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup vegetable oil
4 cubes beef bouillon (I used the packets cuz that's what I had!)
1.5 cups boiling water
1/4 cup brown sugar

Preheat oven to 300 F

Dissolve bouillon in boiling water & allow to cool combine flour, dry milk, eggs, oil, beef broth and brown sugar.
Mix well and knead for 1 minute roll out to 1/4 inch thickness...cut out and place on cookie sheet
 Bake for 30 min.

2. Print off as many Milk & Cookie dog images that you need. I needed 7, so I resized them and put 6 on a page.

Cut them to size – I left a bit of room at the top so I could stamp the sentiment.

3. Stamp sentiment with desired ink colour. I used a sentiment stamp that I have had forever, and the ink is Stampin’ Up!

 4. Colour image and mount onto coloured cardstock. I added white 3D puffy paint to the glass to look like milk. It gives it some texture too!

5. Do this for all of the tags you need.

6. Package dog biscuits into small plastic zipper seal bags. Staple tag to top of bag. Done!!! Easy and inexpensive gift giving ideas for the dogs in your life!!!

7. Share with your best friends!

 SATISFIED CUSTOMERS!!!!!

Thanks for checking out my tutorial! I hope you enjoyed it!

Christmas tag entry

Good morning everyone! I was blog hopping last night and found the challenge at Top Tip Tuesday, so I decided to make a tag to add to my Christmas stash. I have a TON of these manilla tags and thought I should use them!!!  This image is a digi but I have NO idea which company makes her - if you know, please let me know so I can give proper credit!!!  THANKS! I think she is gorgeous!!!

My TIP for this challenge is to make your ribbon match your project, use Ranger Distress markers to colour the crinkle seam binding.  Spritz with water, crumple up and hold with tweezers, then use your heat gun to dry it.  Be careful you don't hold it in one place too long or you will burn it!!!

I am also entering this into Crazy Hazelnut's Christmas challenge - which is RIBBONS and Totally Gorjuss which is PINK!

Going to try to clean the house today & put away laundry (my LEAST favourite job in the world!) - since it is cold and yucky outside!!!! Enjoy what's left of the weekend!!!
Hugs,
Chris
